V-Sep Separating Medium

The new V-Sep separating medium from Valplast International Corp. is now available for use in the dental laboratory to aid in the injection of Valplast Flexible Partials. A premium single coat separator, V-Sep is designed to provide clean injections of Valplast Flexible Partials in order to reduce time spent on finishing.

Instructions for use:

When using between flask halves for separation after boilout:

• Allow investment stone to harden and set completely. When used for injection molding, attach sprue wax first.
• Apply thin, even coat with a soft brush and cover all exposed stone surfaces.
• Allow V-Sep to dry completely before pouring second half investment.

When using as separator for Valplast® or acrylic injection:

• Apply V-Sep only after flask halves have cooled and steam has stopped escaping from flask. This is critical to avoid trapping moisture in the investment.
• Apply a thin, even coat over mold surfaces using a soft brush. Brushing should be done with slow, even strokes to leave a glassy coat over the surface.
• Allow to dry completely before closing flask to inject or pack.
• Check that replacement teeth are not coated with separator. If they are, scrape separator off surfaces of the teeth.

Caution:Thick or wet areas of separator may cause separation of injected areas. Be sure to apply thin coats and allow to dry thoroughly before injecting.
